Western Michigan University AP credit

What each AP score earns at Western Michigan University: 38 exams, credit shown in semester hours. Always confirm with the school before you plan your schedule.

Rules that apply to every exam

For credit eligibility, WMU requires a minimum AP score of 3 for most exams; some exams require a 4 or 5.
AP credits are not applied until after the start of the student's first semester at WMU.
Fall-entering students can expect AP credits applied by mid-October; spring-entering students by mid-March.
Grade reports received after the semester begins are evaluated and credit applied before registration opens for the following semester.
Students should meet with their academic advisor to discuss anticipated AP credit before registering for classes.
For departmental recommendation credit, students should meet with the appropriate department, which determines the course credit and forwards the decision to the Registrar's Office.
