Wabash College AP credit

What each AP score earns at Wabash College for 2026-2027: 26 exams, credit shown in semester hours. Always confirm with the school before you plan your schedule.

Rules that apply to every exam

  • Wabash grants AP credit for scores of 4 or 5 in subjects relevant to its academic programs.
  • Most AP credit is recorded as elective credit unless a direct course equivalency is listed.
  • Credit by exam will not be granted, or will be removed, if a student takes a comparable course covering the same material.
  • College placement exam results take precedence over AP credit; AP credit is forfeited if placement requires a beginning course.
  • The Mathematics and World Languages programs may grant or deny AP credit based on College placement exam results.
  • Department or program chairs may designate additional credit equivalencies, including prerequisite or distribution equivalencies.
  • Students may ask the Registrar's Office to update their academic record after a new equivalency is designated.
  • AP credits earned in Biology or Chemistry will not fulfill the college laboratory science distribution requirement.
  • AP credit appears on the academic record without a letter grade and is excluded from the GPA.
  • Outside credit, including credit by exam other than Wabash exams, counts toward the 16-credit limit on outside credits for a Wabash degree.
  • The relevant department determines the amount of credit awarded.
  • Questions about exams not listed should be directed to the Registrar's Office at 765-361-6416.
